The People Behind Standout Jobs

We’re an agile startup shaking up the HR world with a fresh approach, great technology and incredible customer support. The company was started by Benjamin Yoskovitz, Fred Ngo and Austin Hill.

Benjamin Yoskovitz

CEO

An entrepreneur with 12+ years experience in Web-based SaaS businesses. Ben believes in customer service above all else, and building great products that people use. He’s an active member of the Montreal startup community and blogger at Instigator Blog. Email Ben

Fred Ngo

CTO

Montreal’s sexiest geek? Almost. He didn’t win the award, but he came darn close. Seriously. But that’s not all he’s known for…Fred’s a master organizer, deftly managing our development team and keeping everything running very smoothly. Fred blogs here.

Austin Hill

Chairman

Serial entrepreneur. Angel investor. Venture partner. Philanthropist. And all around good guy. Austin has launched numerous companies including Zero-Knowledge Systems (now: Radialpoint and Akoha. He’s one of Canada’s eminent startup guys, and blogs at Billions with Zero Knowledge.

Steven McNair

President

Our resident HR guru, Steve has 15+ years experience with TMP, Wanted Technologies and others. Steve is tasked with a lot; he’s building our partnership strategy, direct sales strategy, and involved with almost every other aspect of the business. Steve’s an entrepreneur at heart, and a sucker for punishment. Suffice it to say, he fits right in. Email Steve

Marc-Andre Cournoyer

Super Uber Coder

Our first hire on the Standout Jobs team, Marc-Andre is the quintessential hacker guru. He’s active in the open source world, having developed a whackload of stuff that people use everyday including Thin, the fastest Ruby web server around. Marc also blogs about technology, Ruby on Rails and more.

Francis Wu

UI Designer/Programmer

Francis is our UI guy and designer. He knows what he’s doing and likes to rub it in our faces constantly. OK, that’s not true. Francis is a great guy. He’s responsible for making sure every interface of Standout Jobs works well and looks good too. And he blogs.

Alexandra Rimmington

Customer Happiness Manager

Our most recent addition, Alexandra is in charge of keeping customers happy. So…she has a rather important job. Luckily - for us and our customers - Alexandra is great with customers, making sure they’re well-trained and using the product to its fullest potential.

Gary Haran

Javascript Ninja

Every development team needs a Javascript Ninja, it’s just that few teams can find one as good as Gary Haran. One of the few people I know who has dedicated his life to battling browsers (although don’t ask him about IE6.) Gary’s wise beyond his years. And he blogs too.

Vinh Tang

Guard Cat

Our mystery guard cat doesn’t like to come out often. But when he does, you better hope you have the cover charge to come into the office. Otherwise…well, he’s a guard cat. That’s what happens. Vinh doesn’t really blog, he microblogs. It’s a constant point of shame for the rest of the team. But he’s still a great guy, great developer and great cook, all rolled into one.

Martin Aumont

Ruby Guru

Martin was the last Ruby on Rails developer we hired. We may never need to hire another. That’s how good he is. Martin isn’t the noisiest of the group and that’s a good thing; someone has to stay focused. He also speaks (conversationally at least) somewhere in the realm of 7 languages.

Alain Wong

Happy Dance Man

A world class swing dancer. A blogger. Alain recently biked from Vancouver to Tijuana for a micro-credit fund. He’s excessively nice. Alain’s one of our key customer service people - truly dedicated to making a customer’s experience with Standout rock.
