If you’re in the HR world you read Joel Cheesman’s blog Cheezhead. Regularly updated, opinionated and always interesting…
I recently did an interview with Joel, over the phone, and he wrote a summary post, No More Free Lunch at Standout. I’ve since had to calm the employees down; they thought we were cutting out the occasional free lunch we give them…
In fact, the reference Joel is making is to the fact that our Recruitment Communication Platform is no longer free. The entire interview is recorded and available, and Joel highlights a few key points in his article as well.
Here’s what I told him:
We want to keep improving our distribution offering. For example, helping companies get their jobs into more places. E-mail is an important component now, but how do we improve upon that. Also, what does career site 3.0 look like? How do we improve the relationship between job seeker and employer? Ultimately, we’re going to have to evolve so that our product fits into the ecosystem of HR. You should see a lot of change from us over the next 6 months.
It was cool that Joel made reference to our customer, Ericsson, because I do think it’s a great example of how larger organizations are splintering into smaller groups and being a bit more aggressive and creative with their recruitment efforts.
Joel points out, “Most interesting, although Standout Jobs receives most of its interest from smaller, more nimble employers, at least one large organization is utilizing the solution in a way not expected. Ericson in Ireland has set up a microsite to help draw top talent. This is currently an aside to its corporate career center.”
